ABOUT US

korea futrure form2016

The Korea Future Forum(KFF), is a forum to learn about the future trends and foresight for the national future strategies and for improving the state of Korea and the world, organized by the News1, MoneyToday/MTN and the UN Future Forum. The Forum engages the foremost political, business and other leaders of society to shape Korean, global, and industry agendas.

The Forum will be held annually in Seoul, South Korea since May 2016. It is future oriented, independent, impartial and not tied to any special interests. This future-oriented forum pursuits coexistence and co-prosperity of humankind.

Our Purpose is to improve humanity's prospects for building a better future. It is to improve thinking about the future and make that thinking available through a variety of media for feedback to accumulate wisdom about the future for better decisions today. It is also to improve prospects for humanity as a think tank on behalf of humanity, not on behalf of a government, or an issue, or an ideology, but on behalf of building a better future for all of us.

It will invite the futurists from the world and Korea to deal with 15 Global Challenges and to provide a framework to assess the global and local prospects for humanity. The Global Challenges are transnational in nature and transinstitutional in solution. They cannot be addressed by any government or institution acting alone. They require collaborative action among governments, international organizations, corporations, universities, NGOs, and creative individuals.

The 15 Global Challenges is a framework to understand global change and sets an agenda to address sustainable development in framework of climate change, sufficient clean water, population growth and resources, democratization, global foresight decision-making, information and communications technologies, gap between rich and poor, diseases. education, terrorism, status of women, transnational organized crime, energy demands, scientific and technological breakthroughs, ethical considerations etc.

PURPOSE AND VISION

korea futrure form2016

The technology is evolving at a very fast speed. Change especially in Nanotechnology, Biotechnology, Information technology and Cognitive science(NBIC) is too rapid, so it make us difficult to imagine its immense consequences. Change will provide us with opportunities and risks at the same time. Therefore, how we adopt the change will determine our future.

The Forum is to bring together the world’s foremost CEOs, heads of state, ministers and policy-makers, experts and academics, international organizations, youth, technology innovators and representatives of civil society in an impartial space with the aim of driving positive change.

We bring attention to challenges that affect the future of global society. We actively invite perspectives from all interested parties. We believe that the world’s challenges can only be solved through engagement with all members of global society. We focus on the long term, not the emergencies of the day. Success is measured not only in terms of immediate results - we understand that real progress takes time and sustained commitment.
